A story about mental health, patience and regret.

The first story.

Lost Time is the first short film my co-writer, Director and good friend, Kamran Rathod and I made fresh out of college. It began when Kamran came to my house with an Edward Hopper painting titled, “Cape Cod Evening” and asked me to create a story from it. That’s when the characters Cecily and Owen were created and thus, Lost Time.

Initially, Lost Time was an overly ambitious project intended to be a 4 episode mini series, each episode around 30 minutes long. After a tumultuous, albeit character-building filming process that included losing an entire memory card, we whittled the trove of film down to a concise and poignant 14 minutes.

We went on to submit Lost Time to a variety of film festivals where it was accepted to 3 immediately. It took home “Best Editing” at the Shore to Shore Film Festival in LA and a selection into the First Time Filmmakers Festival that was held online. The festival run was cut short as after the very first screening at Shore to Shore, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the country the very next day. It was received well by the festivals that were able to feature it and earned a glowing review from shortfilmsmatter.com.

It’s a somber and heartfelt story about a young woman forced into a role reversal with her mother where she is now the main caretaker. It hopes to empathize with those in similar situations and illustrate how difficult and unrewarding it can be when we are thrust into devastating circumstances.
